A Father’s Day Splash Down!

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Another week in the books, and Jasyn.com keeps rolling along! Welcome again everyone to another entry brought to you from Me to you by me; Jasyn.com :D This week defiantly had it’s up’s and downs… But when it came to the weekend, we all came out on top!

Well this week kinda dragged along for the most part, a bit of a distraction in the middle of the week, but mostly by the end of the week everything was taken care of. Finally we were able to get a maintenance guy to the house to fix all the little odds and ends that needed to be done since just about when we moved in. Boy what a pain that was just to get someone to show up when they say they would, then ACTUALLY do the work right… amazing how the concept escapes most people… Needless to say that we’re pretty caught up on the work in the house and ready to finally finish the unpacking, but we’ll have to wait up on that because now Susan is leaving for Detroit on Friday… She’ll be leaving for about 3 weeks (not quite but close)… I’m going to be alone… [and most likely bored out of my flippin' mind... well maybe I can catch up on some poker games]…

Well aside from that, this weekend had Fathers day in it! and This was the first ‘Fathers day’ that I actually celebrated since losing my son… Where I felt it was not only a day for my Father, but also a Day for myself as well… We had planned out a awesome day over at Wet n’ Wild up in Phoenix, which used to be Waterworld but was torn down to make room for a new water park that is much bigger and badder! My Father, Mother, Brother, Susan and myself all got together Sunday and headed up early in the morning to enjoy our Sunday together… Other than some ‘Sibling Bickering’ the day really was awesome and my plan for a great family day out came through!

Monday pretty much was my body saying, “I’M NOT DOING A BLASTED THING!” and I slept in til about 10:30 in the morning, and I didn’t even stay up that night… ugh… but I did help Susan with the laundry a bit by installing the clothesline and helping to hang the laundry outside to save us some money on electricity… We’re really doing an awesome job in conserving around the house, and doing a great job of managing money, but times are still rough and now that bills are under control we’ll be able to save some money and even do a trip this winter to Michigan as well! Or so I hope….

Well Today I get my new phone :D I can’t wait for that [and been buggin' the heck out of Susan with my anticipation, but she'll live ;) ] and Friday she’ll be off to Michigan… Well better start buying boxed lunches, or I’ll end up starving myself for 2 and a half weeks… 0_o…. well here’s to hoping… LOL… Til next week my friends!

The Loom of Impending Doom: Era of JASON Style

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

Well it’s that time of year folks… No it’s not Christmas, No It’s not someone’s birthday… and No it’s not necessarily good news…. It’s the Era of JASON that is upon us… Okay well mainly it doesn’t affect the majority, but still… It always seems to be the most significant 5 months out of the year for some reason… Maybe it’s just paranoia or maybe it’s not, but for some reason the past few years I’ve gotten away pretty free and clear, but always this time of year I get the feeling for impending doom…

Some of you may know already, but some of you may not, the ERA of JASON happens between the months of JULY through NOVEMBER and spells out the name JASON…. So it goes something like this

July
August
September
October
November

Normally during these months in the past, some of the worst possible luck has happened to either me or people close to me. Now it might be sheer coincidence [or simple math, that these 5 months take up 42% of the year so odds are it would happen on those months] but either way there’s no denying that in the past it has proven to be the proverbial apex of the year and I’m just about to start climbing again…

Well hopefully with everything starting to settle down with the house and work, hopefully this year will be like the previous 2 years and make this whole Era of JASON just disappear into nothing… But here’s to hoping!

Enter the Swim Season!

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Phew, it’s gettin hot out there… But the best way to stay cool in the summer: Jasyn.com!

Well it couldn’t last forever… Finally we are getting temps over 100 degrees, and when that starts you can count on two things here in Phoenix, 1) you can start cooking breakfast on the sidewalk, and 2) that swimming becomes the only thing you can do outside for an extended period of time. This past week was tedious in itself to say the least, with everything that Susan and I have been doing around the house we needed a weekend to re-cooperate.

This past week we had more pictures developed and then started hanging some other stuff up. We turned the back living room add-on into a ‘Man-Cave’, where I have my PS3 setup and my sports memorabilia will be. We also had added some decorative pictures to the living room and went through 5 tubs and 2 boxes. Not to mention all the duplicate or expired items we ditched in the trash… [I hate to waste but it was necessary with the lack of storage space we have left]… and after going through all of our dishes and cookware it has become abundantly clear that we need to have a garage sale! We do not plan to have it for a while, but we’ll keep you posted when we do decide to have it!

So this weekend we decided to head to my parents house to hang out with the folks and take a nice swim in my fathers self proclaimed ‘perfect water’… Which is quite refreshing to say the least! Susan and I enjoyed a great swim with my folks and they treated us to a steak dinner on my Faja’s new grill! And if you know Jasyn, Me love me some steak!!!! :D

Sunday Susan and I went to the movies and saw the new Shrek movie [Early showing], then went to Costco and finally got a membership so that we can just go to town in bulk! and then vegged out the rest of the night at home! So overall a productive yet relaxing weekend all in one :)

This week hopefully we can get another handyman down to fix the house, but this week is dedicated to getting bills up to date, and getting even more done with the house [I've just given up on trying to do it all in a day or two cuz that plan has failed already several times]… but soon I’ll have another Poker game and possibly a get together… but with Susan leaving towards the end of the month it might get a bit delayed, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles… Well Better get back to the old grind… you know how that is!

Jasyn.com v4.1 is now live!

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Either you’ve noticed or you haven’t been here in a while, but Jasyn.com has undergone another total face lift! After some intense coding sessions Jasyn.com is now supporting a new skin and a more uniformed look throughout the site which has never been totally completed before. Some bugs are still being worked out in certain areas and some minor coding still needs to be done, but I wanted to welcome you all to the new Jasyn.com!

[Enjoy]

Jasyn.com Gets Hung!

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Welcome to the only game in town that offers all Jasyn all the time! Jasyn.com.

Okay before you freak out… I am not a pervert…. [okay can't maybe I am] but what I mean is that finally the decorating has begun in the house! Susan and I have been itchin’ to get some pictures developed and to start hanging frames and other items on the wall. Not to mention all the little nuances that a home needs to feel comfy and home like!

Well after a few trips to Michael’s and Anna’s Linens, and [Gag]mart… We have been able to get some accent rugs in the hallway, some new cooking ware, some silk flowers, and even some kitchen mats… not to mention all the picture frames and such for the walls!

So the issue came when we wanted to find the pictures to develop, and pretty much about the collage that we decided to buy has pictures that are vertical instead of traditional horizontal view. Well we did find a few to fill in the gaps. Hopefully in the future we’ll better plan them… Luckily CVS can print images from my computer and pick them up right in the store…

Well gotta get back to hammering the walls… Just wanted to pop in and keep you all in the know! C-ya Next week!
