Well everyone, I guess I’ll just do another update, even though still nothing interesting to report.
Lately I have been battling a bout of depression, and while working today I remembered a story that was once told to me that I figured I would share.
Once there was a huge rainstorm that produced a huge flood and a once dry wash turned into a flowing river. A scorpion was trying to get across but could not because there was no bridge. A frog happened to come by and the scorpion stopped him and asked him to ferry him across. The frog looked at him with confusion and said, “Why would I give you a lift you’ll just sting me.” The scorpion then replied, “Why would I take the chance to sting you we would both die.” Well taking this logic the frog then agreed to ferry him across the river, so the scorpion climbed upon his back. They got about half way and then the scorpion stung him! As the frog started to sink he looked up at the scorpion and said, “Why did you do that you fool, now we are both going to die.” The scorpion just had one reply, “I’m a scorpion, it’s what I do.”
What I take out of this story is that you can’t change who you are to get what you want, in my particular case I don’t need to change who I am in order to find the person whose right for me… If I am a scorpion, than I will do what I do best!
I know this wasn’t much of an entry, but I figured I would share this information with you… and maybe this story will help someone who happens to come across and read this entry and come away with something as I have.
